Walton Hall is a stately home in the county of West Yorkshire, England, near Wakefield.
The Hall was the home of Charles Waterton, a naturalist and lifestyle traveller who made Walton Hall into the world's first wildfowl and nature reserve.
The Waterton Collection is now in Wakefield Museum, and Walton Hall is part of the Waterton Park Hotel.

Hall was a most renowned 16th century physician-herbalist, born in 1575, he came up to Queens in 1589, took a B.A. in 1593, and his M.A. in 1597.
Since Hall was only 11 years the junior of his celebrated father-in-law, married his most favored daughter, and lived immediately next door as neighbors, with all the positive allusions to doctors and herbs throughout Shakespeare’s plays, it is reasonable to assume that the two had a close friendship.
Sary Hall and Silas Cogswell on north, Benajah Hall on east, Joel Mudger on south, and Highway on west, upon her death land reverts 1/4 to Benager, 1/4 Jesse, 1/4 to Asa, and 1/4 to Isaac.

One of the initial forces in the game, Trinity won the Yorkshire Cup four times in nine years and was one of the initial 22 clubs to form the Northern Union after the acrimonious split from the RFU in 1895.
Was a naturalist and explorer born in Walton Hall, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, in 1782 and died there in 1865.
After handing over the West Indian estates to their owners, he determined to start exploring Guiana at intervals beginning with 1812, he made the four adventurous expeditions which are described in the well-known "Wanderings in South America".

It's worth a slight detour here to walk up onto the road, across the bridge and down through the golf course to see Walton Hall, a lovely old building on an island, accessible by a footbridge.
