	Wanneroo Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade
		The Wanneroo Shire Council decided to withhold approval for the appointment of Mr O Lloyd-Woods as Chief Fire Control Officer after it had been claimed that he was a district fire-break contractor.
		On Monday night 3/02/75 Wanneroo suffered a severe electrical storm causing multiple fires throughout the district, the number of fires highlighted the lack of radio communication, earthmoving equipment had to be used to control the Yanchep fires.
		The fire was controlled by the City of Wanneroo until 1600 hrs, the Minister declared a State Emergency and CALM took control of the fire until it was declared safe and extinguished.

		A government townsite was gazetted as "Wanneru" in August 1907 and it was not until May 1953 that the spelling was amended to "Wanneroo".
