The main problem seems to be that when Wansbeck Council was created in 1974 it comprised two major communities with smaller ones around it.
Wansbeck will go the same way unless it overcomes the idea that Wansbeck is a substitute name for Ashington, and finds a common historical bond which it can utilise to the benefit of all the Wansbeck residents.
Look beyond your blinkered border of north Wansbeck, and see the wealth of history which could be utilised to encourage more tourism to the area.
