 | | Like many reviewers say, you really need to listen to U2 albums more than once, there is a huge difference between hearing and listening, and over the years the band has taught me to listen to the lyrics, not just for their songs but other artists as well. |
 | | This is the album that saw U2 go from being a slightly "cult" band to being a huge band that had chart hits as well as albums, and, all of a sudden, everyone claimed to like them, which was rather annoying at the time. |
 | | This album lacks the effervescent rawness of "Boy", but they had made huge steps here and this proves to be the last of the "unpolished" albums, when the band were still seen, by some, as post-punk semi new-romantics in the Echo and the Bunnymen vein. |
