I was really surprised by how bloody this film is and at times it’s a great swashbuckling yarn, but it tries to cram too much storyline into too little time and it just feels disjoint and unnecessarily jumpy.
It is a good film — by no means is it bad — but most of the reviews that I’ve seen say that it is a poor Herzog film.
It is also the first film that I know of to feature a 419 Scam as a key plot point.
