Our philosophy of warfighting, as described in the manual, is in consonance with joint doctrine, contributing to our ability to operate harmoniously with the other Services.
One goal is to enhance the description of the nature of war—for example, to emphasize war’s complexity and unpredictability and to widen the definition of war to account for modern conflict’s expanding forms.
Warfighting is not meant as a reference manual; it is designed to be read from cover to cover.

 Warfighting integration reduces inaccuracy, inefficiency
One example of warfighting integration is the link between ground troops and airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms such as the MQ-1 Predator unmanned aerial vehicle.
Warfighting integration is also about improving processes to reduce the number of people and the amount of time needed to do a job.
Part of warfighting integration is the creation of an enterprise-wide services bus, a kind of central connecting point for all the computer-based applications the Air Force uses.

A Fundamental Shift in the Business of Warfighting
In a network-centric system, however, there is an added complexity--namely, that warfighting functions must be allocated across the operational network's platforms so that BMC4I (battle management command, control, communication, computers, and intelligence) interfaces can remain stable over long periods while the functions themselves evolve independently.
In the network-centric warfighting model, consistent and reliable service is mandatory if complex warfighting requirements are to be supported properly at the battle-force level.
Warfighters and systems engineers alike do this by analyzing potential enemy courses of action and identifying future information needs.
