		Green Day is a band from Rodeo, California, consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong (lead vocals and guitar), Mike Dirnt (born Michael Ryan Pritchard; bass, backing vocals), and Tré Cool (born Frank Edwin Wright III; drums, percussion, backing vocals).
		Green Day is credited, along with The Offspring and Rancid, with popularizing and reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States during the mid 1990s.
		Green Day's Woodstock gig included a gigantic mud fight between the band and the audience, leading to a mêlée in which Dirnt lost his front teeth.
