Queensryche - The Warning album review
Alot of people have been waiting for this album, some I fear with boots raised to strike a blow against a band who have already achieved more than many of their competitors will manage during their entire careers.
This is a proud album, exhibiting a maturity you wouldn't expect from a bunch of fresh-faced youths who look in the flesh like a handful of kids just escaped from the audience and on the verge of politely asking for an autograph (yours I suppose-Ed).
The band's approach on the album is several steps on from the 'Queen Of The Reich' EP without disowning it, and one track in particular, 'No Sanctuary', marks the connection with particular emphasis.

Warning: - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Warning: is the sixth full length album by Green Day and was released in 2000.
Warning: was also the first album not being produced by Rob Cavallo since Kerplunk!
Although Warning: reached #4 and went gold, the album clearly displayed the fact that Green Day were not enjoying the success they had earned in the past, and held a less prominent spot in the mainstream.

Fates Warning - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fates Warning is a metal band, formed in 1983 by John Arch, Jim Matheos, Victor Arduini, Joe DiBiase, And Steve Zimmerman in Connecticut, USA.
Their early works are considered by many as very important works defining the genre itself, while the middle-period works are considered as a progress in songwriting and musicianship as the band evolved, the recent works (since 1997) are in a heavy-progressive, a more mature style.
The first album, "Night on Bröcken", was released in 1984, on the Metal Blade label, featuring a strong Iron Maiden influence.

No Life 'til Metal - CD Gallery - Fates Warning
Along with Queensryche, Fates Warning is acknowledged as one of the pioneers of progressive metal and are certainly one of the more influential progressive metal bands.
Rumor has it that the album's title was suppose to reflect the fact that both sides of the "record" were to be the exact same length.
Fates Warning use to be one of those bands that I would spend the money on to get their albums new at the time of their release.

Fates Warning is a progressive metal outfit from the U.S.A. is their 10th studio album, so their history is quite lengthy.
This album is boring to the extent that it’s a chore to make a cycle through the entire track list.
It is quite acceptable to dislike the album, or fates warning in general; but the reviewer could not be any less accurate on their expressed views.

FATES WARNING A Pleasant Shade Of Grey music reviews and MP3
This could've been a 5-star album with just a little more in the way of dynamics; it's just that through this album, is as if Fates Warning was a racer that never switches gear from 4th to 5th or 6th.
Fates Warning reches a new level in their career composing an album, hard to forget, at lest for me. The album is comprised of one long song with 12 parts and more than 50- minutes, delivering the high skills from each member, Mark Zonder is a techer, absolute stunning drumer.
One of the most varied albums from prog metal with Kevin Moore ex Dream Theatre keys shining on every piece. What more, a recommended album in every way, but still not their best in my opinion, i remain to Symmetry to be the best Fates Warning album.

The best song on the album is also the first single, "Minority." The song is already No. 1 on Billboard's Modern Rock Singles chart, and is one of the best songs of the band's career.
Warning is not a failure for Green Day; the band is just heading in a new direction and has not quite figured out exactly what they want to do with it yet.
But it is a far cry from the pure punk album that Rancid released this summer, and also nowhere near the power of The Replacements' Tim, the album that shows the best transition a punk band has ever made to more quiet sound.

MP3.com - the source for digital music!
There's a sense of fearlessness on Warning, as if the band didn't care if the album wasn't punk enough, or whether it produced a cross-platform hit.
However, that has the wrong connotation, since "mature" would indicate that Warning is a studious, carefully assembled album that's easier to admire than to love.
Warning may not be an innovative record per se, but it's tremendously satisfying; it finds the band at a peak of songcraft and performance, doing it all without a trace of self-consciousness.

Fates Warning is not a party band, and it takes a patient and somewhat refined metal ear to appreciate the subtleties a band like them bring to the table.
I come from the perspective of a long-time Fates Warning fan, and I am certain that I will ultimately write this review in a way that will be most understandable to other long-time fans.
Throughout the album there is a great deal of ambience and most of the songs have a similar tone that connects them all together.

This sophomore album is simply exploding with experiments and ideas, so much so that an otherwise amazing album gets a little drippy around the edges.
They look strange and they sound strange, it shouldn't really work but on their second album 'The Warning', they have recorded an album that most artists will be hard pushed to match in 2006.
Like the recent single 'Boy From School' (a nostalgic and regretful song of things long passed and teenage alienation), the album will most likely pass by the ears of most which is a great pity because Hot Chip have brought back all the inventive fun that most would normally associate with electronic music.

That the CD is actually split into 12 sections will be small comfort for the impatient, but those who decide to stick it out and explore this vivid, inventive composition will be richly rewarded.
Producing the album is progressive rock guru Terry Brown, who also produced Fates' 1991 gem "Parallels." He is most noted, though, as co-producer of all of Rush's classics from 1975's "Fly By Night" to 1982's "Signals." The production is notable, since this album could have been, in less capable hands, a jumble of noise.
There is a clear "industrial" aspect to this album that adds to the emotional maelstrom that the lyrics describe, but it is kept under control by Brown's deft maneuverings.

411mania.com: Music - What The Hell Happened To... 04.07.08: Green Day - Warning
Warning is a radically different Green Day album from any previous ones, or quite possibly, any future albums as well.
First of all, the band decided to self-produce the album themselves and leaned their sound towards a more folk pop/punk hybrid that the band hadn't ever done before.
Maybe it was the record label, maybe it was their diminishing sales, maybe the band was realizing that they weren't 20 year olds anymore, or maybe they didn't give a shit anymore and wanted to do something different.

Hot Chip - The Warning | album reviews | musicOMH.com
Thankfully Hot Chip are considerably more accomplished at this musical splicing than most, and the resulting album, The Warning, is one that is a pleasure to listen to.
The Warning is in fact Hot Chip's second album, having released their first, Coming on Strong for the immeasurably hip label Moshi Moshi, and although this album constitutes a massive step forward for the band, it is comforting to note that it was recorded in the same Putney bedroom as their first.
This is a trick that the band (and they are a band as opposed to a bloke just fiddling about on his computer) employ successfully throughout the album without ever making it seem tired.

No Exit, the fourth Fates Warning album has a song that lasts more than 20 minutes and this is a great achievement for the band, because it is one of the gems from the early prog-metal era.
The album presents the good beginning of their prog-metal career and after this album they would release the excellent and highly-praised Perfect Symmetry, putting then in among the best early prog metal bands.

 Beyoncé - B’Day - Music - Report - New York Times
No warning that, after listening to Track 9, you may find a silly little catchphrase — “To the left, to the left” — lodged in your brain.
The outdated sticker is proof that a lot has changed since September, when Beyoncé’s second album was released, a day after her 25th birthday.
Near the end of “B’Day” Beyoncé explains that the album “came so effortlessly.” It’s shorter (38 minutes long, not counting bonus tracks), fiercer and better than her blockbuster solo debut, “Dangerously in Love.” And it has sold pretty well: more than half a million copies in its first week; about 1.2 million copies so far.
