[TransWarp] Thoughts on the design of WarpCORE 2's kernel tables   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-18)
Changes from WarpCORE 1: * Standardized names across all DB backends * GUID support for "unbreakable" cross-database references * Get rid of context, counter, and class tables, using objects to represent them instead, thus allowing extensibility of information associated with them, while making metaclass support possible.
And these objects in turn could be used to generate DDL for the non-metadata portions of the database schema...
One interesting thing about this WarpCORE 2 approach, is that it actually lends itself to using ZODB's Persistent protocols for state management.

[TransWarp] WCAPI: Requirements for a Python WarpCORE API   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-18)
The basic idea is that you'll define WarpCORE packages as modules that export some set of TW Services, that can be combined together under a TransWarp 'DataModel.Database' Service to implement a database interface.
Ideally, an application written to the WarpCORE API's should require *no* source changes to move between databases, except to select the correct driver information.
In other words, it is acceptable to implement the WCAPI system in ways that require a WarpCORE kernel to exist in the target database.

But with lets say you have a quickbattle with 10 ships and you blow destroy one by hammering its warpcore.

I have done that on some ships I play with often so that it causes some damage after destruction and not destroys everything around it.

They proceed to lob the Warpcore of the Delta flyer into a nebula Voyager is 1.2Million kM away and is shaken Violently.
Secondly, operating a warpcore, instead of the explosive bolts they have now, wich does not seem to operate on the deadmans switch, use AM bolts wich uses contaniment fields, without power those will fail and detonate ejecting the warpcore whenever power is lost.
As for the warpcore, there a deadmans switch is neccesary, say the warpcore is overloading again, and the systems to controll the explosive bolts and release it do not work, just pull the plug and the power goes, making the bolts explode.
