  ISD: Warrah Special School
At Warrah, we believe that the teacher is a 'gateway' through which the child enters the world, as it is the teacher's own enthusiasm that encourages the process of learning.
Warrah School Society is a Registered Charity offering a range of disability services, including special schooling, residential services, employment training and supported employment, which receive partial funding from the NSW Department of Community Services, the Commonwealth Department of Health and Human Services and the NSW Department of School Education.
Warrah School is a founding member of the Association for Rudolf Steiner Curative Education and Social Therapy in Australia, itself affiliated with the Medical Section of the School of Spiritual Science at the Goetheanum, Dornach, Switzerland, centre of the General Anthroposophical Society.

Central to Warrah's philosophy is the adherence to the ideals of mutual respect and service, sensitive and responsive to the changing needs of body, soul and spirit.
Programs are developed in consultation with the clients, their families, special educators, medical professionals, various therapists, house co-ordinators and other specialist staff.

A report on Middle Island was published in The Warrah (Woods 1997a).
The extensive eroded slopes of loose sand and peat dust clearly show that both Islands have been heavily grazed, but they still carry substantial amounts of Tussac grass and good stands of other grasses.

Bob Rose said "The Warrah Society do wonderful work providing accommodation and services to people with intellectual disabilities - but they have very little resources and are in dire need of funds and support.
The "Property Person of the Year Award" Committee comprises members of the Board of the NSW Urban Taskforce, the Warrah Society and other supporters who have committed their time and efforts to organise the event, as well as being the judging panel for the "Property Person of the Year Award 2004".
In excess of $200,000 was raised for on the night for the Warrah Society from live and silent auctions, raffles and a pledge for the refurbishment of several buildings used by people with intellectual disabilities at the Warrah Society's Dural village and educational centre.

We arrived at Sydney Uni's research station, "Warrah", on Friday night.
It began with us sitting around on the deck talking and eagerly looking forward to the weekend's planned activities.
Back at Warrah some of us sorted the samples and our eyes became trained to spot the tiny chitons.

In October, 2002, I began working with teenage students of Warrah, a school and facility for the intellectually disabled, which is located north-west of Sydney Australia (Warrah on the Web).
The class continued for a year, when I returned to the U.S. to begin teaching there.
