If I remember rightly the two pubs were just a stones throw from Warren Street tube station, which was handy as we could then jump on the tube, which would take Chris pretty much home and me within a bus ride of home.
Warren Street is one of those deep stations that requires 2 escalators to get down to the Victoria Line.
The tube wasn't really an option as there was no station near to where I lived.
