These games are becoming more specialized, splitting off from games for people to play in their living rooms into highly detailed simulations suited for specific combat situations.
While the clashes between the defense industry and the games industry are clear (one is used to having their orders followed, the other is used to questioning how things are done) the benefits of collaboration can be great.
Serious games and entertainment games have a lot to learn from each other, and the fact that they are starting to do that can only be seen as beneficial for both sides.

Kikizo Games: Xbox Review: Halo 2
The game was gorgeous, meticulous and methodical, but, most of all, it was just a whole lot of fun to play.
The movie sequences are also the predominant source of the game's sole graphical blemish, as Bungie's aspirations thrust in your face in the form of high resolution textures that frequently pop in disconcertingly and the occasional bout of slowdown.
But games aren't movies, they're games, and perfectly executing a strafe followed by a realistically captured leap and a slice to the face of your would-be opponent is what makes games art.

Missions in the game are actually quite varied, though the bulk of them are definitely of the "kill and destroy everything in sight" ilk.
The game's music is mostly made up of a lot of melodramatic, orchestrated tunes that fit pretty well with the overall scope of the game, and, of course, the classic Battlestar theme does show up here and there.
Warthog has made a strong attempt to make the game's action accessible to both casual fans of the show and fans of the space combat genre.

The overall interface to the game and to each of the modules is consistent, reflects the theme of the game, and is very well done.
While this may seem logical in an adventure game of this sort, the interface made it a little confusing to me. There is a story—though somewhat of an afterthought it seems—that is revealed at the end, and yet the game play could have existed in an entirely different game altogether.

Kikizo Games: GameCube Review: Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
Through the course of the game, you'll swim in the ocean through sunken ships, ride a buffalo from a giant pursuing lizard though a snowy valley, practice your juggling combos in a dusty desert.
The four main boss types are Kong (a fist-fight where you dodge with a clap and punch with a drum-roll), Hog (A warthog who throws fruit at you), Roc (a bird holding an egg which you need to break) and tusk (a robotic elephant who shoots at you with his trunk-cannon.
While the style of the game is very much arcade, it still appeals to the sort of enthusiast player who's gonna go back to these stages, and collect every last banana and explore every last crevice.

The game also has a multiplayer mode for up to four players, where you race on eight different closed-loop tracks in a rally-cross, multicar type of race.
