Writers at Warwick’s ongoing two-for-one campaign saw one of its busiest nights (a near sell-out at the Arts Centre) pair the highly successful, award-winning poet and novelist, Helen Dunmore, with the less well-known writer, Jane Rogers.
This coupling seemed odd at first - Rogers’ direct, arresting prose is a world removed from the measured tones of Dunmore - but the evening proved that these writers had more in common than originally appeared.
Using the questions from the audience as a springboard to discuss research and inspiration, it proved to be a fitting ending to what was an enjoyable evening, both for existing fans of the novelists and those who were new to their writing.
