Wasdale Head is a small village in the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England.
It is located at the "head" of the valley of Wasdale, and is surrounded by some of England's highest mountains: Scafell Pike, Sca Fell, Great Gable, Kirk Fell and Pillar.
The latter claim is based on a former landlord of the Wasdale Head Inn, who proclaimed himself as such.

The Mid Western fells are a triangular shape, with the corners at the Irish Sea, Borrowdale and Langdale.

The rest of the walk should have just been a long road plod to Wasdale Head, but I decided to divert uphill along a track that allowed me to get some better views, and this also got me off the road.
We were always aware that we had no chance of getting any television reception at Wasdale Head, trapped as we were in a bowl in the surrounding mountains, and we therefore sat down to read.
Continue through Gosforth and head eastwards through the village, and when the road forks take the left-hand fork that heads eastwards past the church into Wellington, crossing the River Bleng at Welligton Bridge before climbing steeply uphill.

The site of the screes of Illgill Head and Whin Rigg plunging dramatically into Wastwater’s blue waters is the first sight that greets visitors to this, one of the Lake District’s most famous valleys.
It is also a valley of extremes — the lake itself is England’s deepest (258ft) and Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain (3,210ft), can be easily climbed from it via Brown Tongue or Sty Head Tarn.

Anyone know the situation with campsite at Wasdale Head prices utilities etc..
The Screes Hotel is at Nether Wasdale, and the campsite is in the field right nextdoor, not sure about the Strands though...
I thought the question was about the Wasdale Head campsite (National Trust), details via the link I gave.The Strands hotel is also in Nether Wasdale.

Heading up to the lakes tonight and want to leave my car at Wasdale Head as I'll be sleeping at sprinkling tarn.
Does anyone know if there are suitable bays/places/parking for leaving the car?
