In the county the population was spread out with 22.90% under the age of 18, 8.00% from 18 to 24, 26.30% from 25 to 44, 25.60% from 45 to 64, and 17.30% who were 65 years of age or older.
The median income for a household in the county was $25,869, and the median income for a family was $31,657.

This house has been in two states (Massachusetts before Maine was a state), two counties (Lincoln before Washington County was formed in 1789), and two towns (Steuben before Cherryfield was incorporated in 1816).
Built in 1829 or 1840, this church's exterior was remodeled in 1870, and the design reflects Greek Revival influence with it's triangular gabled pediment, wide cornice and corner pilasters.
Decorations are unique among Maine mansard houses of the period (1874).
