On March 7, 2006, the Board of Trustees of Washington and Lee University at Lexington, Virginia, elected Kenneth P. Ruscio as the 26th president of the nation's ninth oldest University.
Ruscio, an alumnus and former professor of politics at the University, is currently Dean of the Jepson School of Leadership Studies at the University of Richmond.

                The University will not refinance loans with one exception: a newly hired eligible employee who happens to live in the Rockbridge County area at the time of hire may refinance an existing external loan under the University loan program during their first year of employment.
