Jessica Cutler - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jessica Cutler (born May 18, 1978) is a former congressional intern and journalist who ran a blog called the Washingtonienne concerning her sex life, which resulted in a scandal on Capitol Hill after her identity was revealed.
In Spring 2004 she caused a stir by posting details about her often kinky promiscuous sexual activities with older men, some of them married, whom she met while working for U.S. Senator R.
In June 2005, Robert Steinbuch, who says that he is the lover Cutler referred to as "RS" on her blog, filed a lawsuit against her, seeking over $75,000 in damages.

I have thus far resisted discussing the “Washingtonienne” sexblog scandal because, hey, this is a family website.
She was the one, in fact, who outed Washingtonienne and, albeit unintentionally, got her fired.
Washingtonienne’s blog no longer exists at its original location, but it has been archived here.

The New York Times > Magazine > Phenomenon: Your Blog or Mine?
In the blog, Washingtonienne, a Capitol Hill employee, used a Senate computer to post intimate details about her experience sleeping with six different men, some of whom were paying for her favors.
Washingtonienne listed her partners by their initials and occupations, from the married ''Chief of Staff at one of the gov agencies, appointed by Bush'' to her current boyfriend, a fellow Senate staff member.
Praising Washingtonienne for her candor and honesty (''You go, girl!''), Wonkette identified her as Jessica Cutler, a 26-year-old mail sorter for Senator Mike DeWine, an Ohio Republican, who promptly fired her from her $25,000-a-year job.

This cash-dispensing, anal sex-loving crew will presumably be fleshed out, so to speak, in The Washingtonienne's upcoming eponymous novel, for which she recently received a reported six-figure advance (from HyperionDisney, that avatar of family values).
What with the hubbub about the 26-year-old Cutler and her sexcapades, I decided a read-through would be in order, and I curled up the other day with the blog and a martini in a state of high anticipation.
The more press that was generated about Washingtonienne, the more readers wanted to know, and the more press was generated, and the more readers wanted to know.

Washingtonienne comes across as a touch flippant (is she seriously like a year older than I?), and Wonkette is very forceful.
The depths that I had to go to to figure out WTF you were talking about say it all.
But not, Washingtonienne is a thoroughly meanginless story that just happens to serve as a welcome distraction from prison abuse and a boring presidential campaign.

The Media Drop: The Washingtonienne's latest news
She was the Capitol Hill staffer who wrote about her sexual exploits with other staffers, mostly her senior, on a blog archived here.
Well, as it turns out that she's back in the news nowadays just as her book, The Washingtonienne, is hitting the streets - but it's not really about the book that she's being talked about, it's her old blog.
Cutler is being sued for revealing certain sexual habits of one of her partners, who were generally referred to by initials only - but suspicions of which initials represented which real live people have culminated in at least one successful guess, which is where the lawsuit comes in.

Reason: Meretrixocracy: Washingtonienne's hard-earned rise to the middle
A young Capitol Hill staffer writing under the pseudonym of "The Washingtonienne," Cutler chronicled her paid and unpaid sexcapades with several men—one of whom was allegedly a married Bush appointee.
The novel does have its moments, but it never reaches the entertainment value of her brief blog—the archive of which is still available online and has the added advantage of being free of charge.
As an addition to the post-Bridget Jones chick-lit genre, The Washingtonienne is short on the crucial ingredient of grrl power: It's unlikely historians of feminism will ever look back at Cutler's justification for engaging in degrading sex—"If a woman did it herself, she was in control"—as a high point in empowerment.

It seems that Steinbuch, 37, was put off by Cutler's recap of the duo's sexual activities as well as his preference for spanking (among other things).
Though Cutler, pictured at right, posted under the Washingtonienne pseudonym, her identity became known when DeWine canned her for improperly using Senate computers (and while only referred to by the initials "RS" on Cutler's blog, Steinbuch's identity was an open secret).
In his complaint--which does not specify a monetary damages--Steinbuch notes that, "It is one thing to be manipulated and used by a lover, it is another thing to be cruelly exposed to the world." For her part, the 26-year-old Cutler recovered quite nicely from her firing, landing a six-figure book deal and posing for Playboy.

 Jessica Cutler
It had to happen: A respectable New York literary agency is interested in seeing a book proposal from Jessica "Washingtonienne" Cutler, the 24-year-old Senate aide fired last week for writing "offensive material" at work -- i.e., her explicit diary of sexual encounters with six men -- and posting it on the Internet.
When staffers in the office of Mike DeWine, the conservative GOP senator from Ohio for whom she worked, were alerted to her "blog" (short for Weblog) - called the "Washingtonienne" - she was unceremoniously fired from her $25,000 job sorting mail.
Cutler, who used the pseudonym Washingtonienne claimed in her blog that she was paid for having sex with the chief of staff at a federal agency.
