As of July 1, 2004, the population of Washoe County is officially estimated at 383,453.
In the county the population is spread out with 24.90% under the age of 18, 9.80% from 18 to 24, 31.00% from 25 to 44, 23.80% from 45 to 64, and 10.50% who are 65 years of age or older.

Note from FAN: According to Jeff Green, Citizens for Safe Drinking Water, the vote total in Washoe County was as follows: 57.9% Against Fluoridation (59,009 votes) 42% For Fluoridation (42,805 votes).
Washoe County voters passed two measures meant to give local government the power to regulate tobacco use in public places, but voted not to add fluoride to their water.
Question 8 asked voters if Washoe County should have control of their smoking regulations, while Question 9 asked if smoking should be prohibited in places frequented by children.
