 SAAF Squadrons
On 28 October 1999 the squadron was reactivated at AFB Bloemspruit to as an attack helicopter squadron, equipped with the new Rooivalk.
The squadron was reformed in June 1967 at AFB Swartkop to fly the new Super Frelon helicopter.
The unit was deactivated at AFB Pietersburg on 29th November 1992 to be moved to AFB Hoedspruit.

Disbanded in December 1939, the squadron was reformed at AFB Waterkloof on 24 March 1941 with Hurricanes.

 Test Flight and Development Centre SAAF - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
By 1979, the TFDC had grown large enough to merit the allocation of one of the hangar complexes at AFB Waterkloof, and in 1980 it established a satellite unit at Van Ryneveld Airfield in Upington to conduct weapons release tests.
The end result was that the Test Flight and Development Centre was officially established on 10 August 1975 at AFB Waterkloof.
It is currently also assisting the Luftwaffe in the testing of the Taurus stand-off missile, for which two Panavia Tornado aircraft haved deployed a number of times to AFB Overberg from Germany with the help of a SAAF Boeing 707 aerial tanker.

One of the parabats injured, Private S D Magidela, was in the high care unit of 1 Military Hospital yesterday with back injuries while the second, Pte T H Mdleleni, was released after treatment.
One pilot — Colonel Jeff Earle, of the SA Air Force Reserve — suffered minor injuries, but the civilian pilots of the other plane were unhurt.

AFB Waterkloof was not using the outdated falconry cage and revamped it for the birds of prey as part of SAAF’s commitment to environmental protection, said SAAF media liaison officer Captain Nomsa Khumalo.
A Cape eagle owl, five spotted eagle owls and two black-shouldered kites were moved from crowded conditions at the Wings in Need bird hospital to an old falconry cage at Air Force Base Waterkloof this week.
Injured raptors were given a new lease on life by the South African Air Force, who cleaned out an unused cage for the winged predators to ensure their continued survival.

To add to it all the officer commanding Waterkloof who is the one to give approval is also a new person in charge.
The acting commander that was there for December 2004 until Januaury 2005, as well as the outgoing commander passed the application backwards and forwards amongst themselves and neither was interested in filling out the necessary application forms to forward to AFB Waterkloof for approval.
The new commander has indicated that he is not familiar with the procedures and that there is not enough time left to obtain permission from Waterkloof.

B-1B 86-0094 of the 37th Bomb Squadron suffered a mishap at Ellsworth AFB on October 22nd 2000, when a faulty fuel pump caused fuel to migrate from the forward section to the aft section of the aircraft, thus exceeding c.g.
A B-1B from the 419th Test Squadron at Edwards AFB began a new round of electronic warfare testing in the Benefield Anechoic Facility in mid-October 2001.
They were 86-0103 and 86-0135 from the 7th BW at Dyess AFB, and 86-0121 and 86-0139 from the 366th Wing at Mountain Home AFB.

 AFB Waterkloof Sport Day
The aim of the sports day was to bring all staff members on strength of AFB Waterkloof, internal squadrons, units and sections together for a day of fun, in order to promote esprit de corps, general well being and fitness.
On 10 June 2005 a Sports Day was held at the sports field at AFB Waterkloof.

On 14 October 2005 the Pretoria Branch of the SAAF Association held their diamond jubilee banquet at the AFB Waterkloof officers mess.
The evening started with a sherry and sparkling orange cocktail in hand, while guests listened to the soothing sounds of the SAAF band’s brass ensemble, and the pipes and drums of the SAMHS in their traditional Scottish outfits.....

Yes I am still working on it and as of last October (Dexa Defence Expo at Waterkloof AFB)the SAAF have made a few modifications which I feel are worth adding.
I have also had to make some mods to certain parts to make then easier to cast.
Regarding my Oryx conversion kit, I have had a set back over the past couple of years.
