  Waterman
Waterman departed Pearl Harbor on 6 March and screened the escort carrier Nassau (CVE-16) as she ferried replacement aircraft, passengers, and cargo to Kwajalein, Majuro, Tarawa, and Makin in the Mar-shalls and Gilberts.
Waterman promptly left her screening station and was the first of two escorts to come alongside and lend a hand.
Waterman continued that work of mercy until 10 September, when she departed the Tokyo area with TU 30.6.3— four LSM's and sister ship Weaver (DE-741)—bound for Shiogama, on the eastern coast of Honshu, through which port the POW's from the Sendai camp were being evacuated.

Waterman pens started being imported in Italy in the early '900s: the first ads published at national level date from 1904/1905.
It is however true that the patterns used on many Waterman overlays were not always exclusive: many pens of various brands exist which wear exactly the same overlay as Waterman models.
Waterman pens with Italian overlays are mainly 18 K.R. (rolled gold) or solid 14 ct. gold; silver overlays are extremely rare and, in most cases they were produced on commission or handcrafted by skilled goldsmiths.

Stock, Aitken & Waterman - Biography - AOL Music
Many British rock critics hated Stock, Aitken & Waterman with a passion; they detested the threesome's ultra-slick, very glossy approach, which was heavily influenced by the Euro-disco and Euro-pop of the late '70s; Stock, Aitken & Waterman's roots were folks like ABBA, Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, Cerrone, the Village People; and Silver Convention.
Stock, Aitken & Waterman were about as commercial as it gets -- at times, they were downright bubblegum -- and that fact wasn't lost on the British rock critics who bashed them unmercifully.
Stock, Aitken & Waterman was the team that American star Donna Summer turned to when, in 1989, she wanted to return to a Euro-disco/Euro-dance approach.

Surfline | Waterman   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-13)
Webster defined waterman as "a person who makes his living from the water (as by fishing, crabbing, or oystering)", and it is of Middle English origin.
Unjustly or not, the waterman is often thought of as somewhat bitter, forever running and hiding from what he views as "encroaching civilization." As embodied by Hawaii's Roger Erikson, the waterman's lone companion is the sea, and he's hardly one for idle chat.
Furthermore, the modern waterman seems all too aware of his own legend and carries himself like a god, with contempt for the "Day-Glo army," who so disgrace mother ocean with loud, self-congratulatory babble in the water and wealthy boaters with the latest fishing gear.
