		Watkinsville is a town in Oconee County, Georgia, United States.
		About 3.8% of families and 5.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.9% of those under age 18 and 4.7% of those age 65 or over.
		Legend holds that the location of the Eagle Tavern (which is still standing downtown) was the one of the reasons that the University of Georgia was located 10 miles away in Athens, over 220 years ago.
