F3: Watts exceeds expectations.: Latest Motorsport news, results with radio player   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06)
Watts, who has claimed ten victories this season in the Porsche Carrera Cup, was drafted into the Raikkonen Robertson Racing squad to aid Bruno Senna in his quest to finish second in the championship standings and made the perfect start to the weekend when he stormed to pole position for the opening race.
Watts was then withdrawn from the second race, with Jarvis having moved 15 points ahead of Senna and on the front row for race two, with Senna and Watts down in tenth and eleventh – making it near impossible for Senna to claim the championship position.
Watt's victory was the highlight of a slightly anti-climactic end to the season, although the year as a whole was a fine success.

Watt's linkage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Watt's linkage was invented by James Watt (1736--1819) to constrain the movement of a piston in a steam engine to move in a straight line.
The Watt's linkage is also an automotive rear suspension designed in the early twentieth century as an improvement over the Panhard rod as a means of locating a rear beam axle of an automobile relative to the body and preventing relative movement side to side.
Whereas the Panhard rod is pivoted at both axle and body forcing the axle to move in an arc, thus introducing a sideways component into the vertical movement of the axle, the Watt's linkage ensures pure vertical motion.

 RepairNation.com - Automotive Encyclopedia: W
A linkage system used to prevent lateral movement of a live, rear axle; similar in effect to a panhard rod but without the negative effects of bumpsteer associated with a panhard rod.
The watts linkage effectively prevents side-to-side movement of the rear axle, but does not produce bumpsteer from body lean or suspension flex.
Another version of the watts linkage consists of two horizontal bars, each mounted near the outer ends of each axle tube and connecting to a nearly vertical link which is mounted to and pivots on a bracket mounted to the frame.

Danny Watts has been going great guns this year in the British Formula Three championship, and it looks like the BRDC backed star could well be continuing further into the 2004 season with the Promatecme run Lola-Dome.
Watts conducted pre-season testing for Lola in the build-up to the start of this year's British F3 championship.
With Watts looking solid at all three venues, there was always hope that somehow futher rounds would be on the agenda, and the latest press release from the team gives further hope.

5-watt tube amps are still as loud as a trumpet! 50 mW is needed for 1/8 the volume of 50 W   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06)
Those who hope a 5 watt tube amp will enable them to play at 2am in their apartment, the fact is, you will still have to use a power attenuator or speaker isolation cabinet, if you want cranked power tube tone at low room noise levels.
Despite their shortsighted wish to get lots of watts for their dollar, most guitarists, most of the time at home, have a great unmet wish and need for a stealth-level tube power amp, something that can be disguised as just a home stereo played at very moderate levels.
Plugging in 65 and 22 watts, and *assuming* the same % distortion and same amp type (the same "rate of onset of increased distortion") and same speaker efficiency, a 22-watt amp is 72% as loud as a 65 watt amp, as follows.

News : Evolution Motorsport, A Mustang Performance Company
Evolution Motorsport has developed an elegant solution in the form of a bolt-on Watt's linkage that eliminates the flopping rear axle by controlling its lateral movement in relation to the chassis.
Watt's linkages are commonly used in race cars, but after Evolution Motorsport introduced its easy-to-install kit a couple of years ago, the design became accessible to do-it-yourself Mustang enthusiasts.
The change in our Mustang's driving manners was significant from the moment we spun it around the block after the installation.....With the EVM Watt's linkage, the car is far more responsive to steering input and it's easier to drive with consistency.

 Peltier Basics
Let's assume we have a peltier which has the capability to move 50 watts of heat from the cold side to the hot side.
Even if you don't have all the variables, if you are interested in buying a commercial peltier that is rated at 32 watts to use on a CPU that generates 40 watts, the peltier will not cool; it will probably wind up generating more heat to the CPU than a good air-cooled heatsink.
The "Peltier from Hell" is a good example of a commercial peltier that is downright dangerous because it is undersized relative to the heat load and is unable to handle the heat load.

If the horizontal links on the Watts linkage are too short the linkage may not have enough vertical travel.
Before building a Watts linkage make sure it has enough vertical travel to allow the full bump-to-droop motion of your suspension.

The Scott-Russell linkage used on the multi-link beam has none of the dissadvantages of the asymmetric Panhard rod, and is simpler and more compact than a Watts linkage.
Both of these problems can be cured by using a more complex Watts linkage, but those are significantly more bulky, and would take up too much trunk space for a luxury sedan like the G20.
