In 1953 the Wisconsin Turnpike Commission was created to study the feasibility of constructing one or more toll roads across the state.
In 1955 it was decided, though, that a toll road through Wisconsin would not be practical, and that the state should instead fully participate in the proposed National System of Defense and Interstate Highways.

Paul Kanter, Chairman of the Town of Delafield and the Wisconsin Town’s Association, Waukesha Unit, was present to discuss the resolution to Board members.  The town of Delafield approved the the resolution over a four year time span.  Ottawa was discussing it at their meeting this evening.
Leair read the memo from Town Planner Jeff Herrmann.  The Plan Commission has recommended approval of this csm.  Discussion.  Chadek made motion to approve the csm for Genesee Center subject to the conditions, with the removal of condition #1 that was placed on it by the Plan Commission.  Schmittinger seconded, motion carried unanimously.
Chadek stated he would support this resolution for the towns that want it, but he was not convinced, he felt the.41 cents would be a 20% increase in the town’s budget.

The first draft of men from the Town of Lisbon began in the Waukesha County Court House on Monday, November 10, 1862; from it 29 were drafted and 32 exemptions (the Examining Surgeon opened his office in Waukesha on September 1, 1862) were given.
In the summer of 1863, Wisconsin responded to President Lincoln's call for troops by requiring men between the ages of 18 and 45, who had not already enlisted in the volunteer force, to be enrolled in the state militia.

 WEAU | iQ Academies: Enrollment to Grow This Fall
The Waukesha School District reports its virtual high school could triple its first-year enrollment of 250 in the next school year.
The district says based on the 1,000 applications for the school, they expect enrollment could hit 750 students in the fall.
It's called "i-Q Academies of Wisconsin." All of the instruction is done remotely, over computers that the district provides for students to use in their homes.
