		It was originally known as Wauwatosa Senior High School until the opening of Tosa West in 1960.
		Wauwatosa East High School was originally known as Wauwatosa High School.
		Much of the current structure of the school was built in the second half of the 20th century.

		Recently Wauwatosa East High School student Samantha Rise Roberson, 17, was at the Wauwatosa library checking out a book and she just about dropped it when the librarian paused to say, "Oh, you’re that girl who won that contest." Surprised, she smiled and said, "Yes."
		I want to go to school to major in musical theater with jazz studies," she says, adding that she’d like to audition for schools on the East Coast or maybe in London.
		She also plays trombone in Wauwatosa East High School’s marching band and will be singing "Georgia on My Mind" by Ray Charles at an upcoming performance.

		An archaeological expedition of sorts at Wauwatosa East High School has uncovered a lovely cache of New Deal-era murals that were remodeled into obscurity three decades ago.
		Rajer, whose mother-in-law went to Tosa East and remembers the murals, is developing a master plan that envisions using community volunteers and high schoolers to help restore the artwork in 2004 and use the experience as a teaching tool.
