Wax museums can be credited to Marie Tussaud, who traveled Europe with wax sculptures in the late 1700s.

I kind of waxed in a vacuum, that is, I really didn't have a whole lot of people that I was talking about waxing with so I developed my own theories and methods.
The day could have been too warm for the wax, (Jay Wenner has a report on his website, he had good results with LF 4 at the same race so the wax was probably on the cold side) but I just don't like this product much.

JP Basses, a French luthier, has built a 12-string bass for Jean Baudin, and Yves Carbonne is working on a 14-string sub-bass project.
This technique was used by Dee Dee Ramone of the early punk rock band The Ramones.
The slap and pop method, in which notes and percussive sounds are created by slapping the string with the thumb and releasing strings with a snap, was pioneered by Larry Graham of Sly and the Family Stone in the 1960s and early 1970s.

 Wax Play Information
Because the wax is coming directly from the flame, no pooling is allowed to form (cooling), thus producing the highest temperature of all the candles; therefore extreme care should be taken when using them.
Melted wax is allowed to pool in the surrounding area of the wick, allowing cooling of the wax.
As wax moves away from the flame (about 1¼”), it pools and the radiant temperature cools to about 140°F. From 1¼” to 1½” away from the flame, the wax can cool to 127°F. Moving more than 1½” away from the flame, the wax cools to ambient room temperature.

Not "pop" in the sense of "popular"--which they aren't--but "pop" as in, "la, la, la! la, la!" It's catchy, jaunty music that emphasizes songwriting craftsmanship and an ensemble-oriented sound.
But The Wax Models place the focus right where it ought to be for any kind of pop music: the songs.
The pop-music idiom within which The Wax Models operate was established in the 1960s, and the band is certainly indebted to its forbearers--The Beatles, The Beach Boys and so forth--and equally indebted to new-wave acts like Elvis Costello and the Attractions.
