		Turtles all the way down refers to a myth about the nature of the universe (see Cosmology).
		The anecdote in this form has achieved the status of an urban legend on the internet, as there are numerous versions in which the name of the scientist varies (e.g., Thomas Huxley, William James, Arthur Stanley Eddington, or Carl Sagan) although the rest is the same.
		According to a 1994 Stumpers-L entry with the subject, "Turtles all the way down", the earliest known citation appears in John R. Ross, Constraints on variables in syntax (1967):

		Not that any of Griffith's early films were bad, they're all great in there own way, but Way Down East is a film that anyone can watch.
		It may be the only one of D.W. Griffith's early films that isn't heavily dated in some way.
