Washington County is riding a wave of generosity that has preserved more than 1,000 acres of pristine natural areas and several lakeshores throughout southeastern Wisconsin since January of last year.
Washington County residents have led the way, giving 572 acres of land or easements to either the county parks system or local land trusts, a whopping 51% of all such gifts in the region.
Seyfert is in the midst of negotiations for a gift of 45 acres in the Town of Wayne and donations of two separate conservation easements on a total of 85 acres in the Town of Hartford, all in Washington County.

Lutzka and Zielinski voted for the county pension changes, something their opponents are unlikely to let voters forget.

Theodore Breseman passed his school days in Washington County, and after coming to Clark County helped his father to clear the home farm, also at times working in the logging camps.
