Wayne J. Riley, MD, assistant dean and assistant professor of medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, was elected president-elect of the 5,000 member Texas Academy of Internal Medicine, the Texas Chapter of the American College of Physicians.
Riley received his medical degree from the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, and in May 2002, an MBA from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University.
Riley is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Internal Medicine, and was elected to fellowship in the ACP in 1999.

Lawrie's round would have broken the course record of 66 on the 6,903-yard Penina layout, but it was not eligible because preferred lies were used.
Riley, who shot a 68 on the opening day, went out in a 2-under-par 36.

Former Scottish Open champion Wayne Riley has been fined over his drunken behaviour on a flight from Johannesburg to Perth last week.
The amount of the fine has not been disclosed but Riley was warned that if he does not now seek professional help or if he causes any more problems further discipline will follow.
A detailed report from the airline provided the basis of the meeting, where Riley faced officials from both his home tour and the European circuit.

A hotly disputed penalty for Dunmow was given, and then cruelly taken away by the ref, although this turned out to be the correct decision as Nigel Gypps admitted it was his hand, and not one of the oppositions that handled the ball in the penalty area.
Dunmow, however, regrouped and an excellent through ball from Wayne Riley saw Seton move quickly down the right wing and clip in a cross to the edge of the 6 yard box where Lawrence miskicked the ball, the Epping keeper parried into the grateful run of Callingham who coolly slotted the ball away.
The ball was quickly pumped up the field, with W Riley making a quick run into the box, Track defender George Carter slid in to try to win the ball, badly breaking his leg in the process.
