	Weapon X - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Weapon X was a fictional clandestine government project in the Marvel Universe conducted by the Canadian Government's Department K (and secretly funded by the US government) which turns willing and unwilling beings into living weapons.
		What the Weapon X scientists did not foresee is that the experimentation on Wolverine would cause him to go on a murderous ramage, which allowed the escape of the other test subjects, and caused the deaths of the Professor and Dale Rice, among dozens of other members of Weapon X staff, both scientists and military.
		The chronicle of Wolverine's days with the Weapon X project, from the bonding of adamantium to his bones to his escape from the project, were revealed in the limited series Weapon X, written and illustrated by Barry Windsor-Smith and published in installments in the anthology series Marvel Comics Presents in 1991.

		Although Weapon X tends to work in fairly short arcs, with three or four issues becoming the norm, and it does steer clear of undue decompression, it would be a little misleading to infer that anything really gets resolved at the end of any of these arcs.
		Apparently the Weapon X team have "gone underground", though that still doesn't really explain what happened to all of their staff and the inmates of Neverland - something I'd rather assumed this arc was getting round to in due course.
		Weapon Plus thinks that one of the three is in the pocket of Weapon X and so, having fulfilled arch-villain obligations by delivering some exposition, the baddies send in the soldiers to kill everyone.

		In an appearance in the Weapon X series, however, Fantomex explains that he is not in fact French (further adding to his mysterious origin), but rather speaks with a French accent because he finds that it annoys and distracts others.
		After Fantomex destroys Weapon XII by using a remote detonator, it is noticed that there are two empty Weapon Plus transport tubes in the Chunnel: one that held the violent Weapon XII and another that held something called Weapon XIII.
		The three are defeated by Weapon XV (Ultimaton), who escapes by breaking through the barriers of The World and flying to the Weapon Plus space station.

		The Weapon developers who labored to develop even MORE sophisticated anti-superhuman tactics, moved to Europe and the program became known as Weapon Plus.
		It has been the Weapon X Program for a very long time, Morrison may not have been the first to call it that but he certainly did call it that.

		Matter of fact, there are LOTS of laws about weapons in general, starting primarily with those about guns, use of guns, carrying a gun concealed, etc-----but there are laws about stun guns, pepper spray, knives, etc----mostly having to do with when such weapons may be used, and under what circumstances.
		Weapons aren't malevolent objects, just waiting for a chance to kill someone, nor are they capable of action on their own.

		Each plus of the enhancement bonus still increases the hardness and hit points of the weapon just as in the core rules -- so, while a normal weapon can harm a magical weapon, the magical weapon's improved hardness and hit points protect it to a degree.
		Plus, it kind of trips up my verisimilitude when a fire giant can't use his improved sunder (with a mundane weapon) on a simple +1 weapon.

		Is there a link between the nanotechnology used by Cassandra and that used by Weapon Plus - many have assumed there was a link between her Sentinel operation and the U-Men.
