WebObjects - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
WebObjects is a Java Web application server by Apple Computer which is available, at no additional cost, as part of the company's Mac OS X platform.
The WebObjects development tools and frameworks are part of the install package for Apple's free Xcode IDE for Mac OS X, and the deployment runtime and license are included with Mac OS X Server (from $499, or included with Apple's Xserve hardware).
While WebObjects is supported only on the Mac OS X platform, the deployment runtime is, nonetheless, pure Java and Apple allows users to deploy WebObjects applications on any platform which supports Java (the WebObjects 5.3.1 license update allows free deployments).

WebObjects as a product ships with three major components: a cross-platform set of object-oriented frameworks, developer tools on top of those frameworks, and a deployment infrastructure for running apps built on those frameworks.
Using WebObjects Builder can be summed up as the act of associating methods and variables in the lower pane with the properties of custom and NeXT components placed on the page canvas in the top pane and repeating this process for however many of your custom components make up the application.
It's called the WebObjects Monitor, it is used to remotely administer, monitor status, gauge performance, and provide fail-over for your application's instances during the deployment phase of your project.

While WebObject was and may still be years ahead of it's time, for some strange reason Apple didn't give it the boost it needed.

WebObjects and EOF are remarkable consistent so you will find remarkably few areas where the rules you internalize don't apply where you expect them.
