She attended Bennington College, then left for New York to study dance with Merce Cunningham and to perform with Carolyn Brown (1973-1975) and Douglas Dunn and Dancers (1976-1978), among others.
During her 12 years in New York, Webb witnessed and participated in one of the most important eras of American dance—an era of intense innovation and rigorous experiment.
