Weihenstephaner Kristallweissbier - Brauerei Weihenstephan - Beer Advocate
One sniff is all it took to remind me how great Weihenstephaner beer is. At first I thought that it lacked the immediacy and power of a true, yeast-included hefe weizen, but either it's beginning to open up or my nose is. Sweet grain, lightly zesty clove and creamy banana are on glorious display.
It occurs to me, as I look forward to finishing the last few swallows of this one, that this brewery may just be my favorite in all of Germany, if top-to-bottom quality is the overriding criterion.
This reminded me a lot of the hefe-weizen by Weihenstephaner because of the huge banana tones eminating everywhere from the glass.
