Wellington International Airport - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wellington International Airport (IATA: WLG, ICAO: NZWN) serves New Zealand's capital city of Wellington.
Wellington Airport is notable in that its domestic terminal was built, as a temporary measure, inside a corrigated iron shed and not replaced for many decades.
More recently, however, the international terminal will be upgraded between 2005 and 2007, in anticipation for the entry into service of the Boeing 787.

Consultation toward Part 140 Civil Aviation Rules   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-29)
Wellington International Airport Limited made a further submission on A.13(c)(4) which requires that aviation security officers on patrol must be able to respond to the scene of an emergency within 3 minutes of being requested to attend.
Wellington International Airport Limited agreed with the intent of A.16(a)(2)(ii) to visit all unattended international aircraft every two hours during the night, however it seems to contradict A.13(b)(2) which states that mobile patrols are required at least 90 minutes prior to departure and 15 minutes after departure.
Wellington International Airport Limited suggested that it is overly prescriptive to tell the aviation security service provider that they must have a data base as the mechanism for monitoring the validity of ID cards and pilot licences.

Green Transport Spokesperson Sue Kedgley today called on Wellington International Airport to delay its plans to build a new $30 million Airport Retail park next to the airport, and invest the money instead in upgrading Wellington airport’s runway so that it complies with new international runway safety rules.
Ms Kedgley said the International Civil Aviation Authority had issued a new rule four years ago requiring all international airports to have a minimum run-off area of 90 metres at either end of any runway.
Ms Kedgley said it was irresponsible that the Airport Company would potentially put lives at risk by failing to comply with new ICAO standards for runway safety areas, while at the same time spending $30 million on building a shopping complex.
