  Tring 10 Welwyn 6
Welwyn came into this game undefeated in the league but on the back of an unfortunate loss to Old Albanians in the intermediate cup whilst Tring were looking to defend their longstanding unbeaten home record and capitalise on last week’s last minute victory over Hampstead.
Welwyn were under pressure when Tring advanced far into their 22 and resorted to giving away a penalty to stop the momentum.
Despite several crashing efforts to crack the Welwyn line Tring’s forwards remained fruitless and when a 3rd penalty was awarded in the space of 2 minutes Tring changed tactic and Ben Newton took the 3 points with a kick, slotted home from in front of the posts.
