Wembley Arena at Night (Taken at a live WWE Show).
The Wembley Lions and Wembley Monarchs were two ice hockey teams that used the venue during the 1940s, 50s and 60s and Wembley hosted the British Hockey League play-off finals weekend at the end of each season up until the league's disbandment in 1996.
Wembley Arena was renovated along with Wembley Stadium as part of the regeneration of the Wembley area.

The Lady Lions were defeated 3-2 by the English National Team in front of about 40,000 spectators in the opening game of its European tour.
Wembley Stadium is undoubtedly one of the world's most famous sporting arenas.
The purpose of the European tour was to prepare the Lady Lions, who enter the 1997 season ranked No. 8 according to the NSCAA/Umbro coaches Top 25 poll, for their Aug. 31 opener against James Madison.

Having survived that scare the Lions finished the second half the stronger team with Leon Callendar latching on to good through balls from Sean McCarthy and Ian Bates respectively, but on each occasion he was denied by the onrushing 'keeper.

I lived in wembley from 1972 till 1992 and have fond memories of the stadium.We lived 2mins from wembley park station and as a teenager were always aware of the big matches particularly the yearly England V Scotland matches which would last all weekend!!!
Wembley Stadium was about as possible as a venue for my team as my own chances of playing there.
I first visited Wembley Stadium in 1970 to see the start of the London Mexico car rally and the group 'Cream' were providing entertainment in the stadium itself.
