Arsène Wenger - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wenger was a relative unknown in England (though he had been previously been touted as a potential Technical Director of the Football Association), but quickly led the club to success.
David Dein, the vice-chairman of Arsenal, has described Wenger as the most important manager in the club's history - 'a miracle-maker'; without the increased TV revenue and prize money (especially from the Champions League) that Arsenal have accrued thanks to Wenger's successes, it is unlikely that spending on the new stadium would have been possible.
Wenger was awarded an honorary OBE for services to British football in the Queen's Birthday Honours List of 2003.

 Wenger v. Monroe
Wenger argues that there was "publication of defamatory material" when (1) the Guard informed the Army War College of the flag on Wenger' s record, and (2) the Guard informed the Department of the Army Inspector General' s Office (DAIG) of the flag, and asked for return of Wenger' s file.
Wenger also contends that his forced retirement in the face of unresolved charges of sexual misconduct is not a mere demotion or discharge.
Wenger thus has no claim for equitable estoppel; although he alleges misconduct by the Guard, he does not allege misconduct of the kind that gives rise to such a claim.

Arsene Wenger had since left his homeland for Japan, to manage the team Gary Lineker had 'enjoyed' a brief spell with, Grampus Eight, but he was pleased to accept the invitation to manage in the English Premier League with one of England's biggest and, historically, most successful clubs.
It was a testament to Wenger's determination and motivational skills that Arsenal were able to triumph in the final chapter of an enthralling campaign.
Wenger took some consolation from what was literally a season of two halves as his side retained the FA Cup with victory over Southampton in Cardiff as he planned for another challenge the following year.

 04-4022 -- U.S. v. Wenger -- 10/26/2005
Wenger urges us to reverse his Section 17(b) conviction on the grounds that the government's only evidence that he failed to disclose the amount of consideration he was receiving from PanWorld was a three-minute taped snippet from the June 18, 1994 broadcast.
Wenger nonetheless claims that the district court failed to satisfy prong (3) because it failed to determine whether the probative value of the evidence outweighed its potential for prejudice under Rule 403.
Wenger points out that neither the docket nor the index of exhibits shows that the indictment was sent to the jury, but he fails to explain why this inventory proves his point.

Jean Lave, Etienne Wenger and communities of practice
Etienne Wenger was a teacher who joined the Institute for Research on Learning, Palo Alto having gained a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence from the University of California at Irvine.
The basic argument made by Jean Lave and Etienne Wenger is that communities of practice are everywhere and that we are generally involved in a number of them - whether that is at work, school, home, or in our civic and leisure interests.
Communities of practice can be seen as self-organizing systems and have many of the benefits and characteristics of associational life such as the generation of what Robert Putnam and others have discussed as social capital.

Furious Arsene Wenger launched a bitter attack on Wayne Rooney, referee Mike Riley and Manchester United's rough-house tactics after Arsenal had surrendered their 49-game unbeaten record at Old Trafford this afternoon.
