Wermelandia, or Värmland, is a historical province or landskap in the west of middle Sweden.
Eastern Wermelandia traditionally belongs to the mining district of Bergslagen.
Arms granted in 1560, and revised in 1567 to the current one, with later minor revisions.

He was born at Långbanshyttan in Wermelandia, Sweden, but did primarily come to be active in the United States.
John's and Nils's father Olof Ericsson who worked as the supervisor for a mine in Wermelandia had lost money in speculations and had to move his family from Wermelandia to Forsvik in 1810.
After his passing in 1889 his remains were brought from the United States to Stockholm by USS Baltimore and to the final resting place at Filipstad, in his Wermelandia.

Wermelandia is the latin word for the Duchy of Värmland, in Western Sweden.
And that Marmelandia joke was not even funny the first time, if the province was named "Wermeladia" it would be funny, but as it isn't, well...

Wermelandia has more or less the same boundaries as Värmland County, except the municipalities of Karlskoga and Degerfors, which belong to Örebro County.
Värmland County inherited its coat of arms from the province of Wermelandia.
