The new club prospered and successfully applied to join the Central Lancashire League for 2005.
The club have not yet won anything in the CLL, but they did reach the Wood Cup final in their first season.
Chris Mayer remains the only Oldham Cricket Club player to have scored a fifty at their ground, long before he joined the club.

Werneth comfortably reached their target for the loss of four wickets.
Kanitkar was the pick of the Werneth attack, taking four for 25 off 13 overs, although Durose weighed in with a five-wicket haul costing 62 runs.

Sajith Fernando is one of the 'lost generation' of talented players unable to break into the Sri Lankan national side during the late 1990s because of a settled top order and then apparently too old when the selectors opted for a radical youth policy after the 1999 world cup.
His Sri Lankan club, Colts Cricket Club, and UK club, Werneth Cricket Club, have been the beneficiaries as he has scored heavily and consistently for both sides.
He is a handy customer with the ball too, with his tight off-breaks, and is an excellent slip fielder.
