		Seit den 1930er Jahren wurden in der Werra periodisch wiederkehrende Fischsterben und ein starker Artenrückgang der Fauna verzeichnet; Salzwasserarten eroberten in der Folge den Fluss.
		Dennoch reicht das derzeitige Belastungsniveau der Werra nicht annähernd zum Erreichen der EU-weit verbindlich geforderten guten Gewässerqualität aus.
		Gehört eigentlich ans Meer: der an Brackwasserverhältnisse angepasste Gemeine Darmtang (Enteromorpha intestinalis) bildet in der Werra Algenmatten aus.

		Franz von Werra was born to upper class yet impoverished Swiss parents, and together with his sister, Emma, he was sold to and raised by an aristocratic German family.
		As soon as von Werra's absence was noted, an alert was put out asking all farmers to lock their hoggarths and keep a close eye upon them, as it was believed that sooner or later von Werra would seek shelter in one of these.

		The Werra's shutter is a Prestor RVS with shutter times from 1s to 1/750s and B. The Werra is probably the most sophisticated non-SLR 135 film camera produced in the GDR with a very nifty design.
