The National League System, otherwise known as the football pyramid, is a comprehensive league structure for football clubs in England playing below the level of the FA Premier League and The Football League.
The National League System has a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between leagues at different levels, and allows even the smallest club to dream of rising to the very top of the English football league system.
The FA Premier League and The Football League comprise the top 92 clubs in the English game, and two teams from the Conference are able to achieve promotion to the lowest division of The Football League each season.

The Sydenhams Wessex League is an English association football league at the fifth step of the National League System, or the ninth tier of the overall English football league system.
In 2004, it absorbed most of the clubs from its feeder league, the Hampshire League, which will form a new Division Two and Division Three.
Champions of the Wessex League who meet the relevant ground and financial requirements are eligible for promotion to the Dr Martens Southern League.

The club entered the Hampshire League in 1961 and in 1963 were Division III champions with a victory in the very last game of the season.
In 1977 the Club entered the Athenian League but did not achieve great success and when the league was extended in 1984-1985, as the new ground requirements could not be met, Fleet moved into the Combined Counties for a time, followed by spells in the both the Surrey Premier and Chiltonian Leagues.
The fire which totally destroyed the stand in the 1991-1992 season failed to dampen the enthusiasm which now prevailed and for 1992-1993 a new complex was built to include a 200 seat capacity stand, a toilet block with facilities for the disabled, turnstiles, in-ground refreshment facilities and an ambulance bay.

Currently the Wessex League are in the minority having only one division and Peckham said: "With a major reorganisation of the Pyramid in the pipeline, the time is right for a Wessex Division 2.

In the season of 2002/2003 we changed sponsers and were called Proserve fc and finished runners up in the senior league were beaten finalists in the League cup.
As our first season as Morton AFC we came 4th in the league and were once again beaten finalists in the league cup.
