West Chester Township, formerly known as Union Township, is a township located in the southeast corner of Butler County in southwest Ohio, one of thirteen townships in the county.
It is bordered on the east by the Warren County township of Deerfield and the city of Mason; on the south by the Hamilton County cities of Sharonville and Springdale; on the west by Fairfield Township and the City of Fairfield; and on the north by Liberty Township.
The township was home to the Voice of America's Bethany Relay Station, a facility covering 625 acres (2.5 km²) in the northwest corner of the township that broadcast American propaganda overseas from 1943 to 1994.

They moved to Ohio in 1829, and settled where they now live, and made their home by the side of an old log until they could erect a log cabin, which was afterward used for a school house.
Huggins was married in that county to Nancy J., daughter of James and Eleanor (Gaston) Moore; her parents were natives of Washington Co., Pa., and early emigrated to Ohio; she was one of nine children James, John, Aaron, Thomas, Alexander, Lyle, Levina, Nancy J. and Elizabeth.
He served as township trustee twelve years, and also as a delegate to help nominate the first officers of Morrow Co.; he was once a member of the "Patrons of Husbandry." He and his wife are members of the church, the former a Baptist and the latter a Presbyterian.

West Chester Township lies within an oval area geologically known as the "Cincinnati Arch." This area has been one of the best collecting grounds for fossils on the continent, due to the fact that the Miami Valley was once at the bottom of an ancient ocean.
On March 24, 1803, the General Assembly of the State of Ohio passed an act "for the division of Hamilton County...by which the county of Butler was established." This new county was named after General Richard Butler, a Revolutionary War hero.
West Chester as we know it today is located in the southeastern corner of Butler County, bounded by Hamilton County on the south, Warren County on the east.

Butler County Engineer Greg Wilkens announces that the next phase of Ohio 747 improvements is slated to begin in June.
This section of state-maintained Ohio 747 is being improved by the County Engineer's Office in an effort to expedite construction, Wilkens stated in a press release last year.

The Reserves Park is on the north side of the Michael A. Fox Highway, east of SR 747, south of the Reserves of Liberty Subdivision, and extends to the east to Van Gorden Road.
Phase IV is a 3,210 foot section of hike and bike trail from approximately 2,000 feet east of the Wetland Park, adjacent to the Michael A. Fox Highway on the south side, north of Hamilton-Mason Road, and proceeds along land being donated to the Liberty Township Park Department from the Butler County Transportation Improvement District.
This phase is being explored and requires permission from Norfolk Southern Railroad to utilize an old farming tunnel under their tracks south of Princeton Road and east of Maud Hughes Road and permission from the Dutchland Woods Homeowners Association to utilize the old entrance to Dutchland Woods south of Princeton Road.
