		The West Coast Conference is an NCAA collegiate athletic conference consisting of eight member schools in California, Oregon, and Washington.
		In fact, San Diego is the only conference member that still plays football at any level; the rest have all dropped the sport, some as early as the 1940s, before the conference existed (Gonzaga and Portland), and one as late as 2003 (Saint Mary's).
		The WCC sponsors intercollegiate competition in men’s baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s golf, men's and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s tennis, women's rowing, and women’s volleyball.

	The 1st Westcoast Canadian Gathering
		In 2004, she was inspired by the Golden Threads Gathering in Provincetown, Massachusetts (www.GoldenThreadsPtown.org) and the Sage Conference in NYC, (www.sageusa.org) and came home to Vancouver determined to put together a West Coast Conference.

		The Loyola Marymount women's rowing team claimed its first-ever West Coast Conference title, winning the I-Eight race and finishing second in the II-Eight and I-Four events on Friday afternoon at Lake Natoma, CA.
		The Lions finished the WCC Rowing Championships tied atop the team standings with nine-time defending WCC champion Gonzaga at 27 points, but LMU was awarded the title by virtue of having won the I-Eight race.

	NCMA 2003 West Coast Conference
		The 41st Annual West Coast Educational Conference recently held in Los Angeles, California, July 17-18, 2003, was by all accounts, a successful program.
		Highlights for this year’s program were the addition of the DFARS Industry Transformation Day, which took place before the conference, and the addition of breakout sessions.

		The annual WCC Business Meeting will be held in conjunction with the International Convention in Surrey, so please make plans to attend the convention to show your support for BC I in this endeavor.
		Unfortunately last year, the Blue Butt Rally was the same weekend as the West Coast Conference in Tacoma, so not nearly as many folks could attend.

		Gonzaga tried to hold off the West’s No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, the Arizona Wildcats, but fell in an edge-of-your-seat double-overtime thriller.
		Gonzaga’s Tony Skinner missed a three with four seconds left on the shot clock, leaving Wildcat Salim Stoudamire with the final points in the 96-95 contest.
		Gonzaga’s loss marked the end of the West Coast Conference’s representation at the NCAA Tournament, after San Diego lost to Stanford 77-69 last week.

		Decided that the criteria for membership should be inclusive rather than exclusive, and that everyone who teaches some form of natural and integrative vision care is welcome to join.
		It was decided to hold the next Conference in San Francisco in the Spring of 2003, and that it would be open to the public as well as providing workshops for professionals and time for AVE meetings.
		Dror and Meir Schneider said they have the experience, knowledge and staff to put in a lot of effort towards this (Kate said she would/could help, having grown up and lived in the Bay Area until 8 years ago).
