The West Hallam Tigers have played together for two years already and they are well drilled with some skilful and hard working players.  Aside from their forwards who combined to devastating effect, their stand-out player was probably Hanna who tackled tirelessly at the back and distributed the ball really well.
Buckley scored for Sherwood from just inside their half, an excellently well taken goal with the last kick of the first period.  It probably wasn’t our only attempt on goal, but I have to confess to be struggling to remember any others.
This may seem like a strange comment after such a beating, but in spite of this West Hallam were a pleasure to play.  Their team, coaching staff and their parents were all very sporting and encouraging – just how it should be at this level.

In the history of West Hallam, in October 1765, it is recorded that Sir Henry Hunloke leased the colliery, unwatered by a fire engine.
There is a record of a ten-year lease of the West Hallam or Mapperly colliery and the newly-erected fire engine to John Sutton on the 10th.

West Hallam Wobbly Wheelers are a group of West Hallam cyclists who meet on Sunday Mornings for a local ride.
The age range varies from mid thirties to mid fifties (although the majority are around the 50 mark).
There is always a tea stop somewhere on the route finishing back to the Punch Bowl in West Hallam between 12 and 12.30 for a couple of pints.
