An ambulance driver on his way to a medical emergency had to be taken to the hospital himself Monday after he crashed while trying to pass a tractor in West Pennsboro Township, state police at Carlisle say.
Chase L. Quirk, 36, was not seriously injured, however, even though the 2001 Ford F-250 he was driving crashed into a billboard along Route 641, police say.
As result of the crash, the ambulance — unit 17-81 of West Shore Advanced Life Support — had severe damage to its front end and both sides.
