Employees at the Seattle Monorail Project were “pleasantly surprised” at the wide margin of public support, said Natasha Jones, spokeswoman for the project.
The West Seattle strategy of the anti-recall Monorail Now campaign was to focus on voting precincts where, in 2002, people voted slightly in favor of the monorail or slightly against it.
Natasha Jones of the Seattle Monorail Project agreed the initiative did cause some confusion among voters, “but it worked both ways.” Each side probably lost and gained unintended votes as a result, she said.
