Residents and tennis club members are divided as to what its future will be since it hasn't been used for tennis purposes in 14 years.
Tennis balls, their fluorescent yellow colors faded to a dull brown, sit in puddles of murky water in the seating areas, where the green paint is chipped and the benches warped.
West Side started hosting a smaller tournament, the Tournament of Champions, which drew players such as Ivan Lendl, John McEnroe and Andre Agassi, but that was last held in 1989.
