		From the founding days as the Midwest Collegiate Hockey League (MCHL) from 1951-53, to the Western Intercollegiate Hockey League (WIHL) from 1953-58, and ultimately on to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association in 1959, this prestigious athletic conference has developed and maintained a tradition of excellence that truly is second to none.

Martin and the Western Collegiate Hockey Association announced last May (2003) that the 2004 WCHA Final Five would be held at Ridder Arena on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, Minn. Dates for the women¹s conference playoff championship will be March 12, 13 and 14, 2004.
		"The Association is pleased to have the opportunity to conduct the women's 2004 WCHA Final Five at one of the finest hockey facilities in the country in Ridder Arena," said Martin.
