  NPWRC :: The Cranes
Eurasian Cranes are omnivorous, probing and picking for a wide range of plant and animal foods both on dry land and in wetlands.
The GCAR for cranes estimated that 279 Eurasian Cranes were being maintained in captivity as of 1993 (Mirande et al.
The Western Siberian population of the Eurasian Crane, the Kazakhstan/Central Asia and Eastern populations of the Demoiselle Crane, and the Western and Central populations of the Siberian Crane require many of the same actions along their migration routes and in their wintering grounds.

 Eurasian Watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum) - A Probem Aquatic Plant in the Western USA
Eurasian watermilfoil is an extremely adaptable plant, able to tolerate and even thrive in a variety of environmental conditions.
Eurasian watermilfoil may have been introduced to the North American continent at Chesapeake Bay in the 1880s, although Couch and Nelson present evidence that the first collection of Eurasian watermilfoil was made from a pond in the District of Columbia during the fall of 1942.
The success of a drawdown on Eurasian watermilfoil is dependent on several factors such as degree of desiccation (drawdowns in rainy western Washington and Oregon are often ineffective), the composition of substrate (sand vs. clay), air temperature (the exposed sediments need to freeze down to 8-12 inches), and presence of snow.

 The Irony of Western Ideas in a Multicultural World
Western values are well known to include Western Christianity, the rule of law, social pluralism, representative government, and individualism (Huntington 1996a).
In their eyes, it reflects the Western ethnocentrism that was also evident in Fukuyama’s “end of history” thesis as well as a fear that with the end of the Cold War order in world affairs is not possible.
If so, nationalist interpretations of various aspects of Western civilization (religion, institutions, social science, literature, etc.) as “alien” and not applicable to their local context are nothing more than the use of politically convenient rhetoric to create the image of an enemy and consolidate public opinion around desired goals.

The eternal polarity of the Eurasian movement and Atlanticism, according to Dugin's mythology, is deeper than party, national, religious, or state preferences, and represents a profound metaphysical choice.
During the October Revolution of 1917, for example, this polarization reached its climax in a confrontation between the Eastern-minded Jewish Bolsheviks, whose spiritual roots should be sought in the Cabbalist and the Hassidic traditions, and the Western-minded Jewish bourgeoisie that was nourished by rabbinic rationalism, modernity praxis, and the Enlightenment.

In a wet monsoon year, the western North Pacific subtropical ridge is stronger as a result of positive feedback that involves the anomalous Hadley and Walker circulations, an atmospheric Rossby wave response to the western Pacific complementary cooling, and the evaporation-wind feedback.

A sharp cline becomes apparent in the southern Ural - western Kazakhstan area, suggesting a predominantly western Eurasian substratum in the European Turkic-speaking populations such as Volga Tatars and Chuvashis, whereas maternal lineages of their immediate neighbors - Bashkirs and Kazakhs - are already largely of an eastern Eurasian origin.
The added presence of eastern Eurasian mtDNA lineages in the Mansi introduces the possibilities that proto-Eurasians encompassed a range of macrohaplogroup M and N lineages that subsequently became geographically distributed and that the Paleolithic expansion may have reached this part of Siberia before it split into western and eastern human groups.
