  Mann Cup - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The championship series is played between the winner of the Western Lacrosse Association and the winner of the Ontario Lacrosse Association.
The trophy is one of the most valuable trophies in all of sports, made of solid gold and valued at $25,000.
It was originally a challenge trophy, but in 1925 the champion New Westminster Salmonbellies turned the trophy over to the Canadian Lacrosse Association who instituted a national playoff system.

The 2003 inductees to the Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame are Robert Cook of Akwesasne, Eli Cornelius of Oneida, N.Y., Samuel Crogan of Lewiston, N.Y., Sonny Herrington of Cornwall, Joseph James Hill of Waterloo, Dave Martin of Buffalo, N.Y., Barry Maruk of Rexdale, Robert Seymour of Cornwall, Florie Tomchushyn and Jack Wilson of Mississauga.
He was one of the founders of lacrosse in Surrey, serving as president of the Association and as manager and executive of numerous Intermediate, Junior and Senior teams.

The Eastern Pennsylvania Scholastic Lacrosse Association (EPSLA), formerly known as the Pennsylvania Scholastic Lacrosse Association, is the governing body for boys lacrosse in the PLA Chapter area.
The EPSLA, Central Penn and Western Pennsylvania champions play every year, usually the first week in June, for the Keystone Cup, which is awarded to the best boys' high school in the Commonwealth.
The Penn Valley League is one of the newest leagues in the EPSLA, and reflects the growth of the lacrosse at the high school level in the Pioneer Athletic Conference and in Bucks, Lehigh and other counties north of Philadelphia.

The Toronto Youngs won the first Mann Cup in 1910, claiming the championship trophy donated by Sir Donald Mann, the chief architect of the Canadian Northern Railway.

Today they are two of the most talented players in the National Lacrosse League, and thanks to an off-season trade with Buffalo that brought Derek down the Thruway to Rochester, they are reliving their youth as members of the Rochester Knighthawks.
Because of their age difference the Malawskys (Curt is 31, Derek 28) were almost never on the same team growing up.
When Derek was old enough to play senior level in Canada's Western Lacrosse Association he and Curt played together for two years with New Westmin-ster and one for North Shore, but that's been it.

In what was billed as the first ever collegiate indoor lacrosse game (I guess the Carrier Dome in Syracuse doesn't count) the Colorado State University Rams defeated the University of Colorado-Boulder Buffaloes, 15-4.
In the my-own-backyard category, the Ontario Lacrosse Association, and new team ownership and management, recently announced that the Ottawa Titans will join the OLA Junior A league, beginning play in the summer of 2005.
The new franchise will be the only eastern Ontario entry in the soon-to-be 12-team loop, which consistently sends its top players to the NLL, including an increasing number who add US collegiate experience to their resumés.
