The 4th seeded Western Ontario Mustangs, a Wild Card entry from the OUA West, faced the Laurentian Voyageurs, 5th seeded and champions of the OUA East.
The key on the defensive end for Western was their play on All Canadian post Ted Dongelmans, who was held to only 2-6 shooting, finishing with 4 points and only a single rebound.
Overall, Western was 12-23 from beyond the arc, and their 63.6% shooting in the second half made them 58.2% for the game.
